Not long ago i posted up a post mention Nikon upcoming EVIL system and today, Nikon V1 and J1 officially unveiled. It come with 5 colors - white, pink, red, silver and black
According to Nikon, their system is known as "1 System" Mirrorless Camera. Both model V1 and J1 are identical to each other. Both camera come with 10.1 Megapixels CMOS sensor - CX-size (13.2mm x 8.8mm) sensor with a 2.7x crop factor and ISO as high as 3200 only. In addition, a 3-inch LCDs, 10fps shooting, high-res electronic viewfinders, and full HD (1080/30p) video capture -- though 720/60p and 1080/60i modes are thrown in for good measure.
The J1 come with a built-in flash, auto-noise reduction on movie clips, a 73-point AF system, dual-core EXPEED processing engine, a 29 minute cap on single movie files which far greater than the five minute ceiling on its earlier DSLRs and a ritzy phone detect system.
Meanwhile the V1 boasts an EVF and supports an external flash, as well as a mechanical shutter, stereo microphone input, a "multi-accessory port" and a magnesium alloy chassis.
Nikon offer quite alot good lens for this 1 System. A 10-30mm f/3.5-5.6, 30-110mm f/3.8-5.6, 10mm f/2.8 and a 10-100mm f/4.5-5.6, and a customized Speedlight (SB-N5) flash will also be in tow.
Nikon J1 will be on $649.95 (Ext RM2,000) and Nikon V1 will be on $899.95 (Est RM2,700). Both camera come with 10-30mm f/3.5-5.6 kit lens.
Author's note: Great! I have been waiting for Nikon EVIL system since last year when the news was speculate around. However i am disappointed with what they can offer on this new line. First thing first the 2.7x crop factor sensor is not attractive! The sensor size is so small, so i doubt on the image quality especially for lowlight.
What attract me could be the lens they offer. But pricing not available yet. With the price offer by Nikon V1 and J1, i'll rather pay more attention on other cams such as Sony Nex, Olympus Pen or Lumix gf series which offer better sensor and similar price range. However, i am interested to know how the dual-core EXPEED processing engine perform.

So, would you get Nikon J1 or V1 or go ahead to any direct competitor like Samsung, Olympus, Sony or Panasonic?
