Apple announces iOS 7 at WWDC 2013 Keynote : new look, Siri, multitasking, toggles and more

UPDATED : Not all iOS 7 features will be available at all iDevices especially the older generation. source from GSMArena

Sadly only iPad 2 get the least features which is iTune Radio.

In case you miss out last night keynote from Apple WWDC 2013, fear not! We are here to cover the brand new iOS 7 improvement compare with previous version.

iOS7

New look

iOS7iOS7

After 6 version on iOS, finally the 7th iOS version revamp a brand new UI. Apple decided to use flat design on both icon and also UI elements. All system icons are redesigned around a standardized grid to unify the look. It also features an animated wallpapers (not a live wallpaper in Android) and there's a dynamic parallax effect between the icons and the wallpaper as you turn and tilt your phone.

Multitasking

iOS7

Finally a real multitask from iOS! Apple claim the new multitask system allows apps to update much more often, while not wasting battery.

Enhanced Siri

New UI which is card-based UI and new services to provide answers to your questions (Twitter, Wikipedia and Bing, take that Google). The new Siri also capable of controlling your iDevice (increase brightness, turn on Bluetooth) and it offers a new lively voice (both female and male) for English, French and German.

New Notification Center

iOS7

The notification center seem a total revamped and it offer alot info such as birthdays, weather, upcoming events from the calendar, stocks and even some info for tomorrow. Notification center will show up on the lockscreen and once you dismiss a notification, it goes away on the other devices too so you don't have to see the same notification multiple times. Pretty good!

Toggles

iOS7

I am very sure Android user familiar with toggles. To access toggles, just swip up from the bottom of the screen. The toggles able to control screen brightness and the music player, the new AirDrop feature, and AirPlay along with some app shortcuts, including a flashlight toggle.

New camera UI

iOS7

As much as I like simplicity, the new camera UI in iOS 7 is totally simple! Clean and nice. The new camera features four modes – regular stills and video, square photos with color effects (hi, Instagram) and panorama.

New Photos Gallery

iOS7

The photo gallery has new UI too and provided automatic Geo tagging now. It sort your photos based on where and when you took them with automatically putting a title to the album. Zooming out shows new auto-generated albums for multi-day trips and zooming out even further groups the photos in years.

Updates on Safari

iOS7

The Safari browser for iOS has new 3D UI for switching tabs and you're no longer limited to only 8 tabs. The browser now features a single smart search filed rather than having two fields - one for URL typing and another one for initiating Google searches. Another features is allowed you swipe from the sides of the screen to go back and forth through your browsing history.

New App Store

Well not visually new but the new app store now allowed automatic apps update and also suggest apps based on your location.

Facetime

The new facetime now available audio only option.

AirDrop

iOS7

No NFC? No problem. Got AirDrop! It uses a peer-to-peer Wi-Fi connection to share stuff with other nearby user.

iTunes Radio

iOS7

The music player get revamped too to iTunes Radio.

Weather

iOS7

Looking on the weather very quickly remind me of HTC weather. Anyway the new weather allowed yout o check forecast for the next five days. You can check the weather of one location or all of them at once.

iOS7

iOS 7 is available for the iPhone in beta today (If you're developer). In the Fall, iOS 7 will be available on iPhone 4 and later, iPod touch 5th gen, iPad mini and iPad 2 and later.

iOS7

So what do you think the new revamped iOS 7? I like the UI alot. Simple and nice. However I still love something more customizeable especially on my main home screen.

iPhone 4S Plan : Maxis VS Celcom VS Digi

I have done some mistake with the Digi plan and just fix in the calculation. Sorry!

Well there tomorrow are the day for all Telco's in Malaysia launch the iPhone 4S. Have you gotten you mind yet which Telco to choose??

Here are the comparison if you still having doubt :

Maxis

Celcom

Digi

All Telco's offered 24 months contract meanwhile only Maxis and Celcom offered 12 months contract as well.

If you are a person who don't like to tie with plan too long, Celcom and Maxis 12 months contract is perfect choice for u. Assuming you only need 16GB iPhone 4S with the cheapest package, Maxis offered RM100 package (1GB Data usage) and you get to buy the phone for RM1,750. Meanwhile, Celcom offered RM68 package (800MB Data usage) and phone priced at RM1,838.

Maxis : RM100 X 12 months = RM1200
RM1200 + RM1750 = RM2750 iPhone 4S 16GB with 1GB data usage for 12 months.

Celcome : RM68 X 12 Months = RM816
RM816 X RM1838 = RM2654 iPhone 4S 16GB with 800MB data usage for 12 months.

Looks not much difference so is totally based on your judgement.

If you want 24 months commitment, Digi will join the party with it cheapet package, RM55 - with auto billing (1GB data usage) and phone priced RM2,090. Maxis RM100 package again will offered the phone as low as RM1,450 for 24 months contract. Finally, Celcom offered RM1,638 for its RM68 package.

Maxis : RM100 X 24 months = RM2400
RM2400 + RM1450 = RM3850 iPhone 4S 16GB with 1GB data usage for 24 months.

Celcom : RM68 X 24 Months = RM1632
RM1632 X RM1638 = RM3270 iPhone 4S 16GB with 800MB data usage for 24 months.

Digi : RM55 X 24 months = RM1320
RM1320 + RM2090 = RM3410 iPhone 4S 16GB with 1GB data usage for 24 months.

In this long run race, Celcom seem cheaper than Digi and lastly Maxis for being most expensive.

Of course, there are alot stuff else to consider besides cheap package. What i mean is the network coverage and reliability. Judgement is on your hand ;)

Happy Shopping in this Christmas!

iOS 5 finally gets an untethered jailbreak

Oh hey finally there is a Untethered Jailbreak for IOS 5. It will available for public soon.

The video below are from the Chronic Dev Team that demonstrates a working untethered jailbreak solution.

The exploit is available on both iOS 5.0 and 5.0.1, so there shouldn’t be any problem jailbreaking either of them.

The hacker promised to test the jailbreak solution on the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 (which he doesn’t have) as soon as he get the chance, but everything should work fine on Apple’s latest iDevices.

The untethered jailbreak isn’t ready for public use just yet and there’s no exact timeframe given for that happening, but it shouldn’t take too long.
