Samsung I9300 Galaxy S III Hands On

The Samsung I9300 Galaxy S III is officially unpacked on last night in Malaysia, One Utama Hotel Kuala Lumpur. We are lucky enough to be one of the among first who manage to hands on on the device before it officially on sales.

* Samsung Galaxy S III with touchWiz *

* Back cover is pretty finger print magnet *

* 8.6mm thickness. Not the thinnest phone but still sleek *

Our Dygadget representative, Jackie did a short video on it. Check it out. Do note that it is a hands on video and, yea he miss out alot important infosince it is his first time did such video, kinda nervous..

Anyway to recap Samsung I9300 Galaxy S III specification :

  • 4.8" 16M-color Super HD AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 720 x 1280 pixel resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 2.
  • Android OS v4.0.4 with TouchWiz.
  • 1.4 GHz quad-core Cortex-A9 CPU, Mali-400MP GPU, Exynos 4 Quad chipset, 1GB of RAM.
  • 8 MP wide-angle lens autofocus camera with LED flash, face, smile and blink detection, 2MP secondary video-call camera.
  • 1080p HD video recording at 30fps.
  • Dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 b, g, n.
  • GPS with A-GPS connectivity; GLONASS support, Digital compass.
  • 16/32/64GB internal storage, microSD slot expansion.
  • microUSB port with USB host and TV-out (1080p) support, MHL, charging
  • Stereo Bluetooth v4.0, FM radio with RDS.
  • Super slim at only 8.6mm.
  • NFC support
  • Impressively large 2100 mAh battery

There is no internet around and sadly we couldn't conduct test such as S Voice and web browsing. But what really impressed us are the camera. Being 8mp shooter, we gotta admit it has rich color and sharp image compare to its predecessor, Sansung Galaxy S II.

*Click the image to enlarge *

Whats more? Zero shutter lag that make you spam like nobody business, 3.3fps when in burst rate. Same goes to front facing camera, it has zero shutter lag and that tiny 1.9mp sensor has ability to record 720p video. *Check out our hands on video for the video sample*

The Pop Up Play is good for people who always love to watch video. Just a tab to minimize it to a floating screen and you're free to open others apps. We do notice that the TouchWiz is pretty smooth compare to other Samsung model. Thumb up to Samsung for finally tweak and enhance their UI.

Nevertheless, Samsung galaxy S III indeed a great phone with highest specification ever u can find. We wish we could get a unit from Samsung to make a full review. Let's pray and stay tune on our site, kayz? ;)

Thumb up to Samsung Malaysia Electronic for the good job. This is the feel every phone manufacture should have when unveiling their new flagship phone.

The Samsung Galaxy S III Will be Unveiled on 3rd May

Samsung finally decided to unveiled the Galaxy S III on coming 3rd May.

There is a rumours running around saying that Samsung Galaxy S III might not have much difference compare with Samsung Galaxy S II, just like what the iPhone 4S was to the iPhone 4. The only thing we can expect to see was a quad-core CPU (likely an Exynos rather than Tegra), 1GB of RAM and a 4.7" screen.

Anyway, rumours still rumours. We will wait till 3rd May for the final confirmation. Stay tune with us!

Samsung Galaxy S III to be 7mm thin

Screen display, screen size, processor race..now what? Thickness comparison of course. Apparently rumors said that Samsung Galaxy S III will have 7mm thickness, which thinner than Motorola Razr who has 7.1mm waistline. However, Huawei Ascend P1 S still winning by having 6.7mm thickness.

However rumors stated that Samsung Galaxy S III will allegedly have the same camera 'hump' found on the S II, which make the thickness not uniform.

Purported Samsung Galaxy S III specs revealed

Another news leaked out from Mr. Anonymous from the world of 4chan forums! Samsung Galaxy S II just launched not while ago and now all of us gonna get hype by the Samsung Galaxy S III!

He did hear about the specs of the device from Samsung reps and saw photos and slides of the device. The Galaxy S III will have :

  • Quad-core 2.0GHz processor.

  • 1.5GB RAM, expandable memory with 32GB built-in.

  • 4.65-inch Super AMOLED III display developed specially for this phone with an odd 1280 x 1024 resolution, which will give it a pixel density of 352-PPI, the highest on a smartphone so far.

  • 10 megapixel camera capable of recording 1080p videos at 60fps.

  • Metal body with 9mm thickness and a 2,250mAh battery.

  • Built-in NFC.

  • Running Ice Cream Sandwich OS.

  • TouchWiz 5.

If this spec is true, definitely we get to see a quadcore phone coming next year! However the display aspect ratio is rather odd as we never seen any android phone with 4:3 aspect ratio before.

Anyway do stay tune on it! Rumors said Samsung will announce the device at MWC 2012 with a worldwide release planned sometime in mid-2012.
