Sony Xperia SL goes official and Sony Xperia S will get vanilla Android

Yups i Believe you heard it there is an upgrade version of Sony Xperia S, just like the transition between Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc and Arc S. Nevertheless, Xperia SL seem can't wait for IFA 2012 and have a official launch ahead.

Sony Xperia SL key features :

  • 4.3" display of HD resolution (720x1280 pixels).
  • SM8260 chipset with a 1.7GHz dual-core processor.
  • 1GB RAM.
  • 16GB/32GB of internal storage.
  • 12-megapixel camera with Sony's Exmor R backlit sensor, 1.3MP front camera.
  • Android 4.0

The spec is same with Xperia S except the overclocking processor. It also offered in a new pink color in addition to the previously available white, black and grey.

The pricing and availabilities is not reveal yet.

Meantime, Google just announced am experiment to bring plain vanilla Android to Sony's top shelf smartphone, Xperia S. Reason why Xperia S was chosen because "it's a powerful current GSM device, with an unlockable bootloader, from a manufacturer that has always been very friendly to AOSP."

Sound like we can Google Xperia Nexus in future :D
